A Sneak peek from yesterdays wedding, of some fabulous posing by the bridal party
John said he felt very silly, but the guys were so much fun.
Thursday 5th April saw my first wedding of the year, and it sure was a good one. I started off with Lindsay and the girls getting ready. As I arrived, it seemed that all of the brides family from Scotland was there, it really reminded me of trips to Carlisle to see my mums family. Soon people where on their way and I got down to business photographing the dress, and Lindsay in Rollers, good job she rocks the look.
I then headed off to the venue to meet up with Dave, I found him in a very relaxed mood, looking forward to getting all married up. Whilst having a little chat to Dave, I heard the piper start up. I love hearing a piper, I had one at my wedding. My Granddad loved nothing more than listening to the pipes playing, Black Bear being his favourite song. I nipped off with Dave to get some pics of him and his Best Man.
It wasn’t long before guests were arriving, and wedding time was nigh. I must diverse and mention the staff at the Fir Grove were amazing, making sure that everything was just perfect for the Bride and Groom.
Anyway, back to this day, Lindsay was arriving, looking amazing – and her dad was looking very proud of his little girl indeed. The ceremony was a really nice one too, with a nice balance of love and fun, just like the perfect marriage. we then had just enough time to get outside for some group shots and a few pictures with Lindsay and Dave. It was then time for them to sit down as Husband and Wife, and time for me to leave them too it.
Okidoke, on to the pictures.

Wowsers, this post has been difficult to get to you guys. Some lovely person decided to HACK my webserver!!!! so it’s been a slow process sorting everything and testing, and tweaking settings (Thank You Geo for doing this!)
The other Saturday I met up with Alison and Matthew for their Eshoot (also known as a Pre Wedding Shoot). Alison and Matthew decided on Ness Gardens as the location, after the Sun over the past week, this overcast day almost felt like a let down, until you realise that us photographers love natures Softbox, the sky becomes this beautiful giant soft light, meaning no harsh shadows, no squinting.
We took a little walk around the gardens, just chatting to start with as I find this helps people relax, especially if their not used to being in front of the camera – in fact Alison is used to being behind the camera, and we generally don’t do as well on the other side of the lens, but Alison nailed it!
Alison and Matthew were a bit nervous, although, there really was no need. People sometimes forget, that photographers really want you to look good, unless you have a daft personality, we don’t want you to look daft. This makes us look bad![]()
We got chatting about how they met at a local pub, Matthew watching football, seeing Alison and suddenly forgetting anything else, and about how romantic Matt, proposed in the Lake District. These guys really are a sweet couple, who fit so well together.
I’m pretty sure this is going to be a fun wedding!
This was also my first couple shoot with the new camera….oh my, I LOVE IT!

Since taking pictures of people is generally what I photograph most of all, I thought I best give the new camera a little try out with Josh and my niece and nephew. Plus it allowed me to get a picture of the three of them together which is something my mum really wanted too, and you have to keep your mum happy on Mothers Day now don’t you.
Luckily, they’re all happy to let me take pics of them, but I know I have to work quickly to get the pictures as other things are much more exciting than Dad/Uncle Gareth taking pictures.
As Carol was going to be looking at these, I let the individual shots of Josh until the next day, so we could surprise her with a new picture of him for Mothers Day.
On to the pics, I hope you like.
If you’d like some family pictures taken, give me a call on 07952 447 345.

The other week, after I’d picked up a new tool of the trade, which needed testing, I took a little walk with my camera. I little wander around Runcorn, Cheshire taking some pics was just what I needed….the fact that I was doing it for about 3 hours is another tiring matter![]()
I had lots of fun playing with my new toy (by this I mean serious testing took place). I hope you enjoy the pics![]()
G – Edited to add, my new toy is a 5d mkii and a 24-105 f/4 IS L lens.
