Cheshire Portrait Photographer: A Proud Mummy & Daddy moment – Josh is all Grown Up

Today, Josh tried on his school uniform for the first time. He looked so grown up. It’s hard to believe that it is 4 Years, 8 Months, 3 Weeks and 1 Day since I was witnessing the most life changing and wonderful thing, and now in just over a week Josh is going to start school!!!

We are all very excited as to where this next chapter of our lives will take us, a smarter Son, who already knows-it-all, I expect.

To mark this proud moment, Josh got all dressed up in his St Edwards uniform, and had his photograph taken. So now, as the printer prints off these images for grandparents, I thought I would share some with you.

I know you’ll all agree that he looks very handsome and grown up.

Cheshire Portrait Photography: Delamere Lifestyle Session

So last week, I was lucky enough to spend a few hours with the Murphy/Worthington family. I actually went to the same school as Scott, although he was in my brothers year. It was great to catch up with him again after quite a long time!

We decided to head to Delamere Forest for a relaxing stroll, for everyone, except the wally who decided to lug all his kit around the place with him – I really must learn to travel lighter.

The kids led the way, and we ended up travelling up and down some immense hills, apparently this is how most of their walks end up, and Scott has to somehow navigate the pram down to the bottom of the hill, without falling or tripping, he makes it look sooooo easy;)

After a bit of a hike, we found a great spot to do what boys to best and throw some stones into the water, which quickly became a game of who could hit the branch sticking out of the water the most.

We took a couple of family portraits, and then I stole Scott and Steph away for 2 minutes, I had them walking up the road holding hands and being all romantic…..when Ethan starts singing the wedding march, cue much laughing from all involved, brilliant!!!!

After what felt like hardly any time, it was time to start heading back to the car, via a detour or two…..I was then informed that getting lost was all part of the adventure of a family walk, was I glad when we found the car park again!!!

I hope y’all enjoy the pics.

Luke was wondering why we didn’t go the same way as him – could be Jude’s pram wasn’t designed for that much off road;)

Cheshire Photography: Delamere Family Shoot

Here is a quick sneak from todays Shoot, at Delamere Forest – I’ll explain what Scott and Steph are laughing at when I get the full post up

Cheshire Wedding Photography: Ruslings Portrait – Big Group

I say big group, for a portrait shoot it is a big group, it’s more like a wedding shoot.

I was contacted by Chris and Joanne, who along with brothers, sisiters, cousins and partners, wanted to get a portrait done. There is a special occasion coming up soon, and they are getting a big print made up for it.

It was great to meet everyone on the day, and it was clear quite early on that they are not only family but friends also. It was also clear that they are all CRAZY!
It was especially nice to meet Chris, as he is going to be Bestman at Scott and Lauras wedding later this year. Should be a fun speech on that day!

It was pretty chilly on the day, so we decided to take the picture inside, which meant we didn’t have much space, but they got super friendly on the couch!! I did manage to get them all outside for one shot, and then we did a few couple portraits for anyone who wanted it.

Guys it was awesome meeting y’all and hopefully speak very soon.

Advanced Boudior Workshop: Cheshire Photographer

I’d never shot boudior before this, so I’m not sure if I should have been at an advanced boudior session, but it was an amazing excuse to meet up with a long time forum friend, Lloyd Yoon of Night and Day Photography from Canada.

Lloyd has been on a fashion hot spot tour, visiting New York, Milan, Geneva, Paris and finally London.
As Lloyd was in the UK he asked a few of us to join him and he would set up a bit of a workshop. 5 of us could not turn down an invitation to shoot with Lloyd, the guy is a superstar, a lighting genius, and an absolute top guy.

As stated at the top, I’d not shot any boudior before, so I had no idea whether or not I’d be any good at it, enjoy it or if I’d just blush and giggle when I saw the girls (being the shy and retiring type that I am).

Lloyd explained why posing is so much more important with boudior than some other types of photgraphy, and as he demonstrated I was blown away at how he changed a really good pose into an amzing pose. then we discussed lighting, and lighting modifiers (my wife isn’t happy at how much my shopping list has just grown).

Then it was our turn to try it out, our first model was also our make up artist, Zana. Lloyd ran through some poses, and explained that boudior is all about making your model (who ever they may be) feel the very best they can, as they will relax and allow you to get the best photographs of them, awesome tip!!

Next up was Katya, she also braved up to the night air for some outdoor photography, which was cool.

I learnt so much by watching Lloyd work, and with everything that he shared, so a massive thank you Lloyd, from the bottom of my heart….you are a star.
Also big thanks to both Zana and Katya for being great, with a special big thanks to Katya for braving the cold weather and for your wonderful choice in music!!

Robert “Bob” Whetton made this little poster for Lloyd, it’s a play on an awesome DVD on lighting called One Light, I was watching it not long before London, and my good buddy Tony said he was looking forward to the One Lloyd Workshop more! Nice one guys it looks way cool
