A few weeks back, I had a fabulous, albeit pretty wet day down in Corwen, North Wales. I arrived at Kate’s mums house, with the weather looking overcast, but kind given the forecast. During the preparations mother nature decided to let us know who was boss, and showed us what Wales was capable off.
Being from Wales, Kate knew how things could be, so this wasn’t going to bring the mood down.
You may remember Kate and Rich’s Epre wedding shoot, which was shot in Chester with Bindy, their beautiful leonberger dog. Kate and Rich live next door to Kates mum, with their pack
so i got a quick introduction to all of them.
Back to the girls getting prepared, and I nipped upstairs to shoot the dress and the shoes – when I say shoes, I mean KICK ASS BOOTS!!!
Soon, it was time for me to head off to Plas Isaf, which is a fantastically run venue, a wonderfully converted barn. I’ve been told that the gardens are also pretty fab – sadly the weather didn’t allow us to see them. The staff, just run this place so well, and really look after the couples.
Both Kate and Rich already had children, and they played a big part of the wedding day. Kate’s son Jamie, was the best man. Rich’s son Matthew, a pageboy, his daughter Alyshia was a bridesmaid.
The family aspect was demonstrated wonderfully by Jamie’s best man speech. He started along the lines of, “For a long time it was me and mum….then Rich came along, and he makes mum happy, that makes me happy”
Later the rain eased up, and allowed us to get outside for a few pictures, so we made the most of this. It was a fab day, full of people celebrating the wedding of a great couple.
