Cheshire Portrait Photography: My Boy is a BIG FIVE.

Today is Joshy’s birthday, he is FIVE!!! I can’t believe my little boy is now a big boy, in school and FIVE.

He had his party on Sunday, and afterwards we nipped to the studio to take a few pictures, whilst he was all dressed up as Superman.

Happy Birthday Pal, Love you so very much.

Runcorn Town Hall Wedding Photography:Kay and Peter

This is the wedding, that I was a last minute subsitute on. A good friend needed an operation a few days before the wedding. So I stepped in to fulfill his contract for him. That is why it is incredibly usefull to have a good network of photographers around you.

I started the day with Kay, whislt she was getting ready, with her sister Jane, and Jane’s daughter Grace. Kay was super giddy, and happy – not a sign of nerves anywhere to be seen. I’d been hearing rumours about this wedding for a while, as I know Jane, so I was looking forward to seeing the wedding shoes (not in the fetish way you’re thinking). CONVERSE!!! How frickin’ cool!

Kay’s workplace sent up some gifts, 3 bottles of champagne…..Kay was VERY happy with these, in fact she told us not to tell Pete…..oops.

I then headed off to the Best Man’s house for some shots of the guys getting ready, and another cool thing going on, with some Super Hero t-shirts. I was having a good time already, and we were only just beginning.

The wedding was at Runcorn Town Hall, we’re very lucky to have a beautiful building like this here. The guests were arriving, the weather was really kind to them too.

The ceremony was filled with laughter, as Kay just couldn’t stop, well she could for the first kiss. Afterwards, we took some time for pictures, before heading over to Runcorn War Memorial Club “The Warmy” for some food, drink and a good ole knees up.

I hope you love the pics guys. Enjoy.

Kay made the cake topper herself, and as people say Pete has a big head, she gave him a big head.

Petes speech included a poem, which began  Your name is Kay, which rhymes with Gay, which is what everyone thought I was….it was a top top poem.

Pryors Hayes Golf Club Wedding Photography: Genna and Phil’s Cheshire Wedding

My last wedding in September, was actually meant to be my last wedding of the year, due to cancellations (but I eneded up standing in for a friend – full post coming soon), I was really looking forward to this one, as it was for a couple who saw me at another wedding. We then met up, hit it off and arranged for me to shoot their wedding, 1 year and 1 day to the day of the wedding they met me at…cool eh!

I started off at a little farm house in rural Cheshire, with all the girls….I love how chaotic every brides house is on the morning of the wedding, make up and clothes every where, people running round with drinks, curlers, eye lashes…you name it. I imagine this is what getting ready for a good night out is like, only with an earlier start.

I captured the goings on here, and had a good laugh stalking bridesmaids who didn’t want any pictures taken before being made up!

Outside and Genna was being driven in a Convertible VW Beetle drove by Andy, yes as in Ali and Andy!

From the cottage, we headed over to Pryors Hayes where Genna had set up the the room, to perfection….well it is her job after all. Even with a translator for Phils family, to help them chat to Gen’s more northern family;)

The ceremony was wonderful, and very Genna and Phil along with Jasmine their daughter. Even a little rain wouldn’t stop the guests staying outside, though it didn’t last long.

After the ceremony, we had the formals we had the speeches and then whilst people where waiting for the food to be ready, Genna, Phil, Jasmine and I headed off for some photo time. Carrie from Pryors Hayes drove me whilst Phil drove the other cart. Carrie also acted as a wonderful Child Minder for Jasmine, who was more than happy to stay cuddled into Carrie.

I was then time to head back and party with the guests, have a first dance, and a birthday cake for Phil’s sister Jess.

Oh and not that I ever go out to upset anyone, especially not my couples, but after reading one of the order of services, I made a note not to even possibly upset this couple, as they’d trained with Monks over in Asia, Phil is a Martial Arts Insrtuctor, and Genna has won a couple of medals….gulp!! I really hope you like these then:D

Cheshire Photographer: I Will Remember

Today, I shall wear my poppy with pride, and remember not only those who fell to allow me to have the life that I do, but also those who served and those who currently serve. I am thankful that these unamed heroes choose to do what they do.
They spend countless time away from their family, so that I may be with mine, in peace.
Thank you fallen heroes, thank you for standing up for this country, thank you for giving your life so that future generations may be free. Thank you to those who served and lived to see the end of the wars, and thank you to all those, heroes, who currently serve….the world is a better place for you having you all in it.

If you are on twitter, there is a guy retalling World War II day by day over 6 years, he is currently in 1939. http://twitter.com/#!/RealTimeWWII Check it out, it is a fascinating way to retell the history.

So today, I hope this country falls silent as one, and gives not only rememberance, but also thanks to out heroes.

Below is a picture, remembering the Batlle of the Atlantic, details on this can be found here

Runcorn Wedding Photographer: Kay and Pete’s Cheshire Wedding Sneak

A couple of weeks back, I had the honour to help a friend out. He was due to photograph a wedding, but a few days before ended up in hospital in need of some surgery on his leg. This is exactly the reason why we have a network of photographers that we’re close to, and it’s nice to have some fellow geeks to chat to. So I stepped up, and honoured his agreement, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Kay and Pete are a wonderful couple, and great fun to be around.

Here is a sneak from their wedding.
