Well last Sunday, I had the job of photographing the wedding of Kathryn and Gary. I was joined by my good friend and most awesome photographer Tony Fanning who started the day with Gary and his two best men. I spent my morning with Kathryn and the girls. Most people were expecting Kathryn and the girls to be manic, but it was so very calm….so calm in fact I was slightly scared
Gary has tortured Kathryn for the past year whilst doing his 365 well 366! For those of you dont know, a 365 is a project that most photographers do at some point, where they take a picture every day for a year. Now most start Jan 1st….Gary used his to count down to his wedding, Kathryn was his muse, and his most favourite subject to photograph. Because of this, Kathryn, is pretty relaxed around the camera, but is also pretty difficult to catch off guard.
I don’t think anyone could ask for better weather for a wedding in November, no rain, not too bright…and not too cold. Add in a nice mix of happy families, and a great wedding you will have.
Kathryn arrived at the church a little early, and was told that she couldn’t enterthe church, so the girls had a bit of a gossip whilst we waited, then is was time for Kathryn to get married, a day she had been planning for over 3 years, awesome!!
The ceremony was a really nice, and intimate gathering, and it seemed to be over almost as soon as it had begun. We then headed over to Walton Hall Gardens for a couple of sneaky pictures with just Kathryn and Gary, before it was time for them to head to The Daresbury Park Hotel, and relax with their guests before it was time for speaches and food.
After the food, Kathryn and Gary were most awesome and gave us more time for photographs….YAY!!!! All the formals completed, it was time to play and get some awesome for them. Having Tony in my corner at this point was one of the best things I could have hoped for, as we have an understanding of where lighting needs to be and what we are trying to achieve, this makes for less time talking and more time shooting.
It was now time to check out the evening reception, and one of the coolest things I’ve seen at a wedding…a sweet table. Now, I’m not talking cakes and such, I’m talking sweets, the type you buy by the quarter for the corner shop. the type that everyone has their favourite childhood sweet, be it bon bons, fried eggs, foamy bananas (these were some of mine)….yum yum yum. Everyone loved it, I had to indulge after I had photographed….I mean it would have been rude not to, would it?
They also had a fun casino, which we made use of!! These are pretty cool as they allow everyone to enjoy the fun, and the highest fun money winner at the end of the night wins a little prize!!!
The first dance, was a part of the evening Gary wasn’t really looking forward too, but I think they done a grand job, of looking lovingly into each others eyes, and telling each other how great a day they had!!!! Good on you guys, it was a wedding most awesome.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure, enjoy!
