Well it seems there is always something new to learn in this photography game. My current project is Off Camera Flash.
Off Camera Flash (OCF) does exactly what it says on the tin. It allows much more control and creativity, than using the flash on the camera – however the rules change a bit now and you have another thing you can change flash to subject distance.
Oh the joys of being a geek means that at least I enjoy learning all this stuff.
OCF can halp give images more of a three dimensional look by creating shadows in a creative way.
Anyway some examples,my good friend chris came round for a fun filled evening of playstation – when my ps3 decided I needed a software update to play a game I broke the camera out whilst we waited.
This is pretty standard – nothing earth shattering first attempt and all that
Then this for portraits is BAD lighting – I love it as its the old Hammer Horror stuff
then a couple of days later I tried it out on myself – photographing yourself is a real pain in the bum, but there you have it I needed a willing model quickly.
Now Josh is a much better looking model, I just wish he stood still a little longer.

My son, Josh, has been unwell this week…..sky high temps blocked nose. The little fella hasn’t been sleeping well.
Monday night I slept in his room with him – I think I got about 1 hours sleep.
He’s on the mend now (at home with Mummy today) but I thought my fellow bloggers would like to send Josh some blog type feedback love
