Merry Christmas Everyone

Wowsers, these last few weeks have flown by….well the year has.

I shot some great weddings this year, and I met some amazing people……so I’d like to say Thank You to the awesome people I have worked with, you’ve given me memories that will stay with me forever…..YOU ALL ROCK!

I’ve heard that one of my couples are expecting – which is great news.

I still have a few posts to get up, but they will have to wait now, Christmas is here. And I have a wedding on 5th Jan 2010….so I’m hoping the snow is still about for that.

The Excitement has been building in our house for a while now, Josh is getting excited….but I don’t think I will sleep tonight….I’m so excited, it really is mostly me who is bouncing round saying, Santa is coming. When I do say it Josh gets more excited – Josh said I’ve been a good boy, so I will get a present….YES!!!!!!

I hope Santa is kind, and you have a great time with family and friends, remember those gone, and be happy with the memories they have left with you, and Look forward to the new arrivals in your life.

So time for me to sign off, but I’ll be back to say Hey soon.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTT’S CHRRRRRRIIIIIIIIISSSSSTTTTMAAAAAAS

Cheshire Wedding Photographer: One Proud Daddy

Well Wednesday was the Nativity from Josh’s Nursery. Oh man, he loves nursery, he thinks its the best place to be, he has his friends, his teachers and his girlfriends…..yeah he has more than one, my 3 year old son is a player;)

When we go to pick him up, he takes us round to show us something they have done, or just to join in what ever they are doing when we turn up.

For the past few weeks we have been getting taught some Christmas songs, by Josh, some of which were new to me…such as when the robots came to dinner….awesome tune.

Josh isn’t really shy except for the odd occasion when he decides it’s time to be shy, usually when lots of people are looking at him, so I thought he might be a bit too shy on the day……how very wrong I was.

Josh walks out dressed as the king (he told me later, no dad, I’m the guv’nor – I love my son, he is too cool) sees me and says Hi Dad, I reply Hi Josh……he then proceeds to tell everyone, thats my dad (see my smile beam).

The play starts, Josh has the opening line and he says it so well, don’t you think :p
Come be counted!! I can feel an oscar coming in for this performance, you may say I’m a biased dad…but boooo to you;)This is the first time I’ve tried uploading video, it was all shot by Carol whilst I snapped, you can see the back of my head at times….I’ve told her next time to slap me on the back of the head and tell me to shift.

then came the rendition of Christmas songs, hearing all the kiddies singing was amazing.

Merry Christmas dear blog readers, I hope Santa brings you your hearts desire. Although I’m sure I will blog a few times before the big day itself.

Cheshire Wedding Photographer: Happy Birthday Son

Well Last weekend was a very happy one for me, my pride and joy was 3.

Recently Josh has really started to like Superman, as in running around shouting, I’m Superman…woooosh…..Gotta love kids.

So we got him a Superman outfit to wear for his party, and he looks awesome….although I will say that 3-4 US size is a bit different to 3-4 UK sizing…hence the not such a great fit.

Josh woke up at around 6:30 in the A.M. (his usual time) and proceeded to tell me that we needed to leave for his party so that we didn’t miss it….well his party was on the Saturday, but his birthday was on the Sunday (a cake and fun in Nursery on the Friday meant a long weekend of Birthday fun for Josh)

It seems that my son in a fast mover, after I flew him around like Superman, he said “Dad now fly my girlfriend round!” Josh’s mummy is still in shock, she thought she would keep her little boy for a bit longer.

Anyway on to some pics of Superman.

You can see Flight of the Navigator in the background of these two pics, already I’m educating Josh in the classics, Star Wars, Superman;)….Can’t forget those Disney and other Childrens classics, Jungle Book, Toy Story, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang(Probably his favourite film).

Well my boy is growing up so fast, I’m sure the next birthday post is going to come around far too quick.

Farewell, My Friend

Being a wedding photographer is a wonderful job, I get to meet some amazing people. And being me, I like to make friends. I am lucky, I get to enjoy the highs as families grow, occasionally I will also feel the lows that comes with being close to people.

I feel like I became friends with Leah and Mark, I chatted to Mark most days….about crap mostly, but as I said in previous posts he was the type of inappropriate that would have fitted in to my family pretty darn well. You can see some posts about Leah and Mark, earlier in my blog.

Sadly, Mark passed away on 29th November, surrounded by his loved ones…and his funeral was this past Tuesday (8th December), the service was so very moving, with tears, and also laughter, as we were told stories of Marks antics.

Leah told us about her life with Mark, the love they shared (which was so obvious to anyone who saw them together). And about the list Mark has left for Leah, some are dreams they hoped to do together, and a few are just plain old mean on Leah, such as the fact she now has to attend the Scooter meet with all the Mods and Skinheads and stay in the basic accommodation at Pontins (Leah only does 4 star and above, with hot-tubs and champagne)

Mark wanted to leave a legacy, so with the help of his friends and family, he set up The Mark Gorry Foundation, their website can be found here and a facebook group page here

The aims of the foundation is to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer and it’s signs, also to raise money for the Clatterbridge Centre of Oncology.

Hopefully I shall be doing some stuff with them next year.

Anyway here are a few pics of Mark, being Mark, one of the funniest, kindest, did I mention inappropriate, and most loved person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and honoured enough to call a friend. I for one will have a Mark shaped hole in my life, as will the many people you touched.
